At Prairie Chapel Methodist Church we desire to surrender to and be fully devoted to one God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We are passionate about what is important to God. Our desire is to demonstrate to our community and the world the extravagant love of God in the person of Jesus Christ. We have been entrusted with a lifesaving and transforming message that we must share with others. Our witness is bold, compelling and fearless. Our mission advances when individuals become disciples of Jesus Christ and join God’s mission to make more disciples.
We connect people with God through Spiritual Formation, Community Fellowship, and Outreach.
Prairie Chapel Methodist Church is committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, and the work of the Holy Spirit in conveying God’s truth and grace to all people. Spiritual Formation is our primary avenue to connect people with God. Spiritual Formation occurs through vital, Christ-centered worship, Sunday School, Bible Studies, Small Groups and other opportunities for growth into maturity. We make connections among people in the Body of Christ by fostering relationships. Ministries within the church family, such as fellowship groups, socials and special events enables us to know one another and make connections on a deeper level. Our witness to the world is marked by mutual love, concern, sharing, and a focus on those who are most vulnerable. We watch over one another in love and bear witness to the transforming power of the Good News as we humbly, but boldly, strive to serve others as ambassadors of Christ! We will strive to serve locally and globally sharing God’s love through our outreach.
Centering the Church on Christ. Colossians 1:18 “Christ is also the head of the Church, which is His body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead. So he is first in everything”
Obeying the Authority and teachings of God’s word. 2 Timothy 3:16 “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
Worshiping God in Spirit and in Truth. John 4:24 “For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in Spirit and in truth.”
Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you, and be sure of this, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
A Message From our Pastor
Welcome to Prairie Chapel Methodist Church located in beautiful Coshocton, Ohio! We are a congregation of Christian disciples seeking to make disciples of Jesus Christ who worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly as we grow together in scriptural holiness. Our mission is to KNOW CHRIST, GROW IN CHRIST, and GO & SHARE CHRIST.
Our focus in on developing an ever-deepening personal relationship with the Savior Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives. Through Scripture-based preaching and teaching, we don’t just seek to KNOW Christ, but we seek to GROW in LOVE with Christ the Lord, in His love for us, and with one another as we journey together on a quest to apply Jesus’ teachings to our lives and to one day be fully aligned and perfected in the love of Christ, holy and sanctified in His righteousness. That may sound like lofty aspiration but that is our serious pursuit of growing in Christlikeness as we look forward to our eternal home. We’re not about fluffy religion but focused on depth of real relationships with Christ and others. We share our love of Christ with others primarily through our missional outreach and relationships, serving the needs of our local community, region, and around the world.
No matter where you are on your spiritual journey, we are here to walk alongside you as we support and encourage one another in truth and help to strengthen, challenge, and love each other as we grow in faith and trust in Jesus. We are affiliated with The Global Methodist Church denomination.
