Rev. Carolyn Christman is new to the Coshocton area, and has served the Prairie Chapel Methodist Church since last October. She has spent most of her life in West Central Ohio, north of the Dayton area and northwest of Columbus. She grew up unchurched, but God drew her into the faith through music. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with minor certification in Music Education from Bowling Green State University. After 20 years as an instrumental music educator she felt called into full-time vocational ministry and received her Master of Divinity degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH in 2008 and was ordained an Elder in 2012. She also holds Associate Certification in Pastoral Supervision from the Pohly Center for Supervision and Leadership Formation with additional training in conflict management. She and her late husband, Dan, were married for almost 34 years before his passing in 2022. She’s a mother to four adult children and grandmother of two.
